Approach
Character and calm.
An interior doesn’t need to pretend. It just needs to be itself in the photograph, with enough air for the viewer to slow down. Pictures like that are looked at, not scrolled past. And whoever arrives there later will recognise every corner.
1Sun and cloud
Low, hard morning and evening sun draws out texture and depth; the soft light of an overcast day quietens everything. Each shows your interior from a different side.
2Flash on request
Have a particular effect in mind? I can recreate it with flash and light modifiers.
3Detail and signs of life
I arrange the flowers, move a vase, leave something on the table that says someone was here a moment ago. When a space needs more, I work with a home stager.
4A walk through the space
Wide view, close-up, mood: frame by frame, the photographs lead you through the place, while straight verticals and calm geometry let the eye rest. A warm, natural edit ties it all into one story.
From first call to finished photographs
1A short call
First, you answer a few questions below, chosen to fit your kind of business: what you want to show, where the photographs will work and when you need them. That way we talk specifics from the first minute.
about 30 min2Quote and deposit
You receive an offer with a quote. Once you accept it, you pay a booking deposit: it holds the date for you and counts towards the price.
offer usually within 24 h3Shot plan
I prepare a shot list, room by room and angle by angle, and plan the day around the weather, the orientation of the building and the path of the sun. No guesswork on the day.
before the shoot4Shooting day
I work room by room, at the pace the light sets. I style each frame and watch the composition and perspective; the picture is taken only once everything is where it belongs.
Session length: half a day or a full day5First look
After a first selection and a quick edit, you receive an online gallery. You choose the frames that go on to the final set.
up to 5 working days6Post-production and delivery
The chosen frames get full post-production and retouching. They reach you with the licence: in full resolution for print and in lighter versions for the web.
after you choose
How a quote comes together
You pay only for what you actually need. The price comes mainly from my time and the licence: how long, where and for what you may use the photographs. I prepare every quote separately and break it down into seven elements. You know in advance what you are paying for, and the invoice holds no surprises.
- Working time
Half a day or a full day of shooting, plus preparation, selection and post-production. The time follows the rooms and shots you want to show, not a fixed package.
- Licence: non-exclusive or exclusive
I keep the copyright and you receive a licence: the right to use the photographs within an agreed scope. Non-exclusive is the standard: I may license the photographs to others as well. An exclusive licence, set out in writing, gives you certainty that within the agreed scope, period and territory no one else receives one.
- Licence term
As long as you need: for an agreed period, or without a time limit. If your plans change, we can extend or broaden the licence later.
- Territory
Where you may use the photographs: in Poland, the European Union or worldwide, wherever your audience is.
- Usage
What the photographs are for: website and social media, booking platforms, press and competitions, print, paid advertising. The licence covers exactly the uses we choose together. You don’t pay for channels you don’t use, and whenever you publish — on a booking platform or in the press — you know in black and white what you may do.
- Third parties
Anyone besides you who is to use the photographs — a furniture or lighting brand, a contractor, the architect, a publisher, a PR agency — receives a licence of their own. We usually settle this before the shoot, so everyone knows where they stand from the start.
- Extras
Travel and transport, equipment (including flash with modifiers), styling or home staging, advanced retouching and, where needed, evening or seasonal shots. Each appears in the quote as a separate item — and only when it is needed.
By default I may show the photographs in my portfolio, unless we agree otherwise — before an opening, for instance, or when the interior is private. Published photographs are credited to me.

About
I’m Piotr Bugaj, and I photograph interiors and architecture. Before photography, I studied the design of what fills interiors — furniture. It left me with an eye for proportion and material, but above all an attentiveness to what a space says and how it feels to be in it.
I learned photography from the inside: in fine-art printing, where every tonal step matters, and in the studio, working with light and digital capture. That’s where I learned that good light can be patiently waited for — or built. I live in Warsaw and photograph across Poland and Europe.
